This image was taken from my collection of sketches and photographs of my New York trip of a few years ago. I found it whilst looking through old material, and wondered why I hadn’t done a painting of it. So I did, and here it is.
I particularly like the action of the figures, and the contrast in building styles in such a small section of landscape. I am also pleased with the effect of light and shade in this composition
