Acrylic on Acrylic Board (circa A4) (Unframed)

I have painted all three grandchildren. I painted Abigail. nine years old at time of writing, when she was three. The painting hangs on the wall in my daughter’s home, and it was an image from a photograph when she was dressing up at an activity centre that she used to attend before starting school.

Recently I competed paintings of her brother and her sister, the latter being youngest of the three. As the two siblings were recent likenesses, Abigail was rather disappointed that there was not a current version of herself, so I decided to do this so that all three were captured at approximately the same point in time.

I took loads of pics, and decided on this one as it captures her mood rather well. The slowly emerging teenager and the distant dream like quality that seems to always inhabit her.

I was happy with the outcome. I wonder, when she’s older, whether she will be?
