Cambridge Street (2) Acrylic on Acrylic Board (A4 Unframed)
This is probably the last of the set of Cambridge paintings that I shall do. I pondered this one and eventually decided to do it as an A4. I suspect this was a mistake, as there is so much fine detail I think that A3 would have given me more scope. I almost abandoned this painting after working on it for the first day, but I persevered. I’m quite pleased that I did. I don’t rate it as being particularly fine, but overall, it’s OK, and pleasant enough. My feelings about it, and the A4 format will be reflected in the asking price.
Cambridge continues to be a place that enchants. Busy, but full of grace and charm. I much prefer it to Oxford. It feels to have more space; the river is more of a feature and it’s lighter and more peaceful.
