Fishing Boat ‘Obsession’, Lymington Quay. (A3 acrylic on acrylic Board) (Unframed)
I saw this fishing boat at Lymington Quay, moored at an interesting angle at low tide, on one of my summer early morning walks. I was more attracted by the slight angle as it leaned against the quayside than by the actual boat itself, although I found the reflections to be very pleasing, especially in the muddy tinted water of low tide.
I was hoping to paint this more freely, more Monet-esque, but it seems that my brushes refuse to do that. I have to go along with what comes out.
I was happy with the tones and the cleanliness of the lines, and the despite the ugly background, which I have minimised, the composition is pleasing enough.
