Levant Tin MIne Steam Beam Engine. Cornwall (2)
Pen and Ink over water colour. Circa A3
This is another image I have developed after a recent sketching and painting trip to Cornwall when I based myself for a few days in Mousehole, near Penzance. AS I said before, the weather wasn’t very kind and that restricted my being able to do much out of doors, although I did manage a couple of pics. But the tin mine was inside, and when the tours had moved on I was able to take some pics and scratch out a few sketches, enough to enable me to do this when I returned to the studio.
I very much enjoy pen and ink over wash, and I also enjoy architectural and technical subjects, so for me at least this fits the bill. This is the second of two studies that I did and I think probably the better of the two. Not entirely accurate and there is some artist’s licence involved, but it’s pretty close.
