Mousehole Harbour Acrylic on Acrylic Board (A3 Unframed)
Here is another acrylic from my trip to Moushole in Cornwall in spring 2019. It was a most productive trip, and I fancy, that as yet, I have a few more to paint of the area,
The last one I did, which I originally titled, ‘Misty light in Mousehole Harbour’ I was corrected about by a Twitter follower who lives there. He informs me that it was in fact St Ives, and to prove it showed me a painting he had done of the exact same location, which amazingly was almost identical to mine.
I was dissatisfied with that painting, as it felt as if I had simply coloured it in rather than paint it. This one I feel is much more painterly. I am happier with the brush marks and much happier with the palette. Maybe this will have some influence on others that I intend to paint.
