Salisbury sheep (A4 acrylic on water colour paper) (Unframed)
This quick acrylic in A4 format, on water colour paper, is an image I captured equally quickly on a very sunny day in Salisbury during the summer.
We were walking around Salisbury taking in many sights and attractions, part of which involved walking alongside the millstream that meanders across the water meadows. From the walk, the view of the cathedral across the grassland is a well known one, and similar to that captured by Constable and by Turner on much grander canvases and with much greater skill.
But it makes this an iconic view, and when the small flock of sheep meandered across the meadow in front of the cathedral, it pretty much completed a perfect scene.
It just had to be captured, and although it’s only what I call a ‘quickie’, I offer it here for you to look at at.
