Description

St John the Baptist. Edlingham (Acrylic on Acrylic Board). (A3) (Unframed)

I found this church and the nearby castle ruins on a recent trip to the North East. I was staying in a small hamlet called Lucker and had visited Cragside Gardens. On the way back toward Alnwick I saw a sign for the church so took a diversion.

What a wonderful hour spent looking in the church and visiting the ruins.

It’s amazing to see such a well preserved ancient building still occasionally being used for worship, and though simple in construction, it was blissfully quiet and full of peace.

I just bought it worth recording.
