The Station at Llangollen Steam Railway
Oil on Canvas. (40.7cm x 30.5cm) (Unframed) On a bright, brisk autumn day, ex-industrial 0-6-0 saddle tank loco ‘Jessie’, makes an atmospheric start as she runs round her train at Llangollen, ready for her next trip west to Carrog. She was built in 1937 by the well-known Hunslet Engine Co in Leeds, and spent her entire working life at Eastmoors steelworks in Cardiff, never being intended for passenger duties. The combination of the river, steam and the bustle of a railway station, held an overwhelming appeal, and it just had to be made into a painting. I may do more!
