Summer wild flowers in Guernsey (1)
Water colour on Water colour paper. A4 (Unframed)
This is the first of two (intended) water colours of wildflowers. I saw them on one of the many walks that we did on our week visiting Guernsey and Herme. These flowers I saw on the northern tip of the island, and I loved the sculptural shapes of the taller flowers, set against the sky, and against the colour of the shorter flowers which make up the background.
I am not a water colourist and I wrestle with this medium each time I use it. I’m trying desperately hard to teach myself the essentials of the technique.
It’s not for me to judge how I am progressing Please feel free to be the judge and I’m happy to receive comments and advice.
