Weymouth Harbour (A3 acrylic on acrylic board) (Unframed)
I love Weymouth. A town that is a tad run down, but trying hard to keep the British seaside alive, and working at pulling itself up by its own bootstraps.
A delightful sea front, and a venue that is adjacent to some of the finest walks and views on the south coast, if not The British Isles.
I have done a few paintings of the promenade area,, and have long considered doing the harbour area. What has put me off has been the complexity of boats, masts and buildings. But I’ve had a go, and here it is
Not one of my most accomplished paintings, but OK. I like the composition and palette, even if some of the brushwork is somewhat dull and flat. Well, that’s what I think. I’m ultra critical and never satisfied.
