Working on The River Thames. London
Acrylic on Board (A3) (Unframed)
Whenever I visit London I love to randomly snap on my iPhone as I walk around, and occasionally sit and do some quick pencil sketches in a small sketch book. Then I can marry the two together and see if a painting is possible
Here is an example. The River Thames is always interesting, but right now, at the time of the visit, they are undertaking some massive excavations for new sewage systems, that will pass along under The Thames, and way beyond. It’s a massively complex project in the centre of the city, and is taking many months to complete.
But the effect is, to make an already busy river even more active and even more interesting.
I wasn’t sure if I could manage the complexity of the crane jibs and all the water craft, but I’ve had a go.
You will have to decide whether it’s worked or not.
